Is it beneficial for family or friends to attend NA or AA meetings with recovering addicts? I ask because I offered to go with a family member and they told me that it was not encouraged and that I should just stay out of it. I feel this was just a way to push me out or a way to ignore my support. I'm not familiar with the rules or regulations in regards to meetings so here I am. I am just trying to show my support and make it easier for this family member to attend meetings.
Any insight?
